We design the best golf swing for your body type
At External Focus Golf, we design golf swings that fit each individual’s unique body type, ensuring movement feels natural and efficient. Our coaching is built around an externally focused approach, helping golfers develop lasting swing mechanics by directing attention toward the target and the ball rather than internal body movements. This method not only improves retention but also leads to clean, crisp contact and more consistent performance on the course.

the driver blueprint
At External Focus Golf, we teach you to hit your driver with confidence using an externally focused approach. By focusing on the club and developing club face awareness and face-to-path control, we help eliminate slices, hooks, and lost balls so you can drive it longer, straighter, and more consistently off the tee.

Own your iron game
We will guide you to strike your irons with precision and solid contact by focusing on the target and the shot you want to shape. Using an externally focused approach and club head data such as angle of attack and face to path variables, we will teach you to focus on impact and club control. We will show you smart aiming, shot selection, and course strategy so you can control your ball without overthinking your body mechanics. This lets you hit crisp, consistent irons while staying confident and in control on every approach shot.

master your short game
We help you master your short game by perfecting your setup, controlling your angle of attack, and teaching you how to adjust the loft of your club on every shot. You’ll learn how to increase or decrease loft naturally as you strike the ball, improving consistency and precision around the greens. We also teach you to understand up-and-down percentages, giving you the knowledge to manage your expectations and make smarter, more confident decisions on the course.

putting mastery
At External Focus Golf, we teach you to master your putting stroke by focusing on the key variables that make the biggest difference on the green. We guide you in perfecting your setup, aim, and speed while showing you data on which putt lengths matter most for scoring. By understanding where to direct your attention during practice, you’ll learn to make more putts consistently, improve your confidence, and maximize your performance on the greens.

Learning to Play Golf as a Beginner
At External Focus Golf, we are not your typical golf coaches. We are motor learning experts who guide you through the process of developing coordination and mastering the art of hitting the golf ball from the very beginning. Unlike traditional instruction that focuses on internal mechanics, we use a science-based approach that emphasizes external focus, helping you learn in a way that is natural, efficient, and built to last. Our methods are designed to make the game easier to understand while keeping it fun and engaging, even for complete beginners.
We teach using the three stages of motor learning, cognitive, associative, and automatic, through an externally focused lens. The main focus during all three stages is on developing coordination through changes in your brain and spinal cord and building strong neural connections through repeated practice. In the cognitive stage, you’ll develop a basic understanding of swing mechanics and golf fundamentals while focusing on the target and ball rather than your body. During the associative stage, you’ll refine your movements, making consistent, reliable swings and troubleshooting errors by staying externally focused. Finally, in the automatic stage, your swing becomes instinctive and repeatable, allowing you to perform under pressure without overthinking. By guiding beginners through each stage with this approach, we help you build a strong foundation for long-term success on the course.

Robbie has helped me simplify how to shape my driver from right to left and left to right. We have focused on trying to shape the ball one way for most shots off the tee, simplifying the game and having way more fun.
